The Malmö Association of Foreign Affairs, “UF Malmö, Utrikespolitiska Föreningen” Malmö (in Swedish) is a politically and religiously independent non-profit association led by students for students. We provide numerous events per year, with weekly lectures, workshops and other events related to international politics and international current affairs awareness with a particular focus on:
- Current international affairs within the political arena
- Different countries and their respective culture, language, religion, economy, political and legal systems
- Development related aspects such as humanitarian and human rights’ issues
- Intergovernmental and Non-Governmental Organisations
- Swedish foreign policy
We organise academic field trips and cultural trips abroad. Previous trips have been to Istanbul, Tbilisi, Jordan and Berlin offered to our members twice a year. We also host a variety of social activities, publish an online magazine, the Pike & Hurricane, and release podcast episodes on various platforms such as Spotify, Soundcloud and Stitcher.
We are also hosts of the annual MUN conference MUNmö.

UF Malmö is a registered non-governmental organisation, and its activities are financed through institutional foundations and membership fees.
We strive to create an environment where our members can develop both intellectually and personally. We promote mutual understanding and respect between nations and people from all backgrounds. Our operations are based on the principle of human dignity and equality of all human beings, as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights.
UF Malmö is a member of the Swedish Association of International Affairs, or SAIA (Utrikespolitiska Förbundet Sverige in Swedish—UFS), which is the national umbrella organisation of all thirteen associations of Foreign Affairs in Sweden. UF Malmö also works under the local student union, Studentkåren Malmö, and currently is the largest and most active association at Malmö University.
